This year’s Award Ceremony took place at the historic Royal College of Surgeons in London. Antaco was crowned winner of the Rushlight Award 2016 in the “Organic Resource” category. Antaco was recognised for its innovative solution to organic waste which highlighted the benefits of hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC), as well as global market demand.

Organic waste is a resource and can be utilised, however, it has historically proved a difficult waste to handle and reuse due to it many forms and properties. Antaco’s HTC technology solves this issue and addresses principles of the circular economy by converting any biowaste into a high value product – biocoal. Given that HTC has been termed, ‘the key innovation of the century’, it is no surprise that our solution delivers the most efficient biomass conversion available on the market. It offers the highest energy yield as the highest amount of carbon from feedstock ends up in the fuel.
