Antaco was voted winner of the ClimateKIC UK Venture Competition hosted at the Royal College of Music in London on Wednesday 29th August 2012.
Climate-KIC is the most credible and practical climate change network in Europe. They bring together the most influential and commercially-minded players in the climate change space and focus on activities that address a real demand.
Antaco beat 6 other finalists to take the coveted 1st prize and will now benefit from the services and networks Climate-KIC facilitates.
The competition is designed to identify start-up companies with real potential to deliver returns and have a substantial climate impact.
Dominik Peus, Managing Director of Antaco says “It is good to see that the experienced panel appreciates our ‘game-changing’ technology which turns biomass into a biocoal at very low cost. Our biocoal is carbon neutral and a 100% replacement for fossil coal. It also helps to solve waste problems. Capital costs to convert to our biocoal are much lower compared to wood pellets”.
